CONSTRUCTIONOVERVIEW: DIAMOND SERVICES CORPORATION is a major bucket dredging company along the Gulf Coast. Diamond Services' dredges utilize 6.5 to 12.5 cu. yd. buckets and operate in inland waters as well as coastal waters and offshore. Diamond Services' dredging personnel are experienced in all phases of dredging operations. Additionally, Diamond Services owns and operates several pipeline barges that are designed to lay, bury and test pipelines with diameters ranging from 2" to 36" offshore and up to 40" inshore. Diamond Services' pipeline barge, Laybarge #5, has capabilities to lay and bury pipe simultaneously in inland and offshore waters. Laybarge #5 has dimensions of 180' X 45' X 10' and has accommodation for 24 people and is fully equipped to lay and bury pipe with spuds and anchors for mooring. In an effort to meet the expanding needs of our customers, Diamond Services built a 300 ton combination Derrick, Lay/Bury Barge "Diamond 85". The "Diamond 85" is primarily utilized for pipeline installations, jacket, deck and production facility installations, salvage work, fire fighting at blow outs and any other construction work that might arise. Diamond Services also owns several pile driving barges for the construction of bulkheads, production platforms, conductor pipe and caisson installations. In addition, the pile driving barges are capable of salvaging production platforms, well locations and pulling pilings. Diamond Services' pile driving barges operate inshore and offshore and are capable of driving concrete, steel or timber pilings. Diamond Services has a Fabrication Division that provides fabrication, welding and labor services. The Labor Services provide labor for numerous different occupations, one of which is sandblasting and painting. Labor Services also provides for both inland and offshore work. The Fabrication Division has all the necessary cranes that are needed for your fabrication project. The utilities (electric, gas and air) for fabrication are all underground. The fabrication facility under roof is 42,000 sq. ft. and has 2 - 10 ton and 1 - 20 ton overhead cranes. Diamond Services also has a Shipyard Division, which is considered a complete marine repair facility. Diamond Services' Shipyard Division has a railway system (marine ways) approximately 350' long, capable of handling barges or boats up to 250' long, weighing 1,000 tons. |
